My sky, 'tis better than thine

I've been planning this moment out for weeks, waiting for the right weather, which here is actually perfectly clear instead of cloudy. There's some kind of perpetual foggy humidity in the Kentucky air that creates a type of softbox around the whole city. During sunset it creates amazing color that gradates perfectly, unlike the rough expansive and light pink colored sunsets in Nevada.

For these shots I didn't spend an hour finding roof access to The Courier-Journal and I didn't climb out on top of the building and get to the highest point to wait for the sunset. But I did find this neat hole to look through in order to add some perspective and a subject to this beautiful background.
