"Create Genius!"

The layout program we use, CCi, has a messaging system in it that we use to communicate. Here is an awesome conversation between my direct boss, Presentation Editor Patty Pitts, and me.

Higdon, Michael:
So anyway, is my blog professional enough (as for as not getting in trouble for it) or do I need to push it deeper into hiding?

Pitts, Patty:
i don't know. i'll have to take a closer look.

Higdon, Michael:
Oh, I figured you had spent the whole weekend perusing it with a fine clicker finger :)

Pitts, Patty:
shocking, isn't it, that i do non-journalism stuff, too ... ; )

Higdon, Michael:
I just can't get over that. I never do..... I even dream about newspapers and logos every night and all of my great ideas are in AP style. Sometimes, just for fun, I pretend I'm the editor of my own newspaper and order small children to "create genius!"

Pitts, Patty:
and do they?

Higdon, Michael:
of course, children love me. But sometimes the result is not as "genius" as I'd like. slightly more "crayola" in fact. But their use of color is something all of us can learn from. And the way they break conventional thinking (people with purple skin?) while staying in the lines...purely work that only SND can appreciate.

Pitts, Patty:
i used to freak the kids at my old church out when I would start making purple skies and pink grass. I told them it was my world and it could be any colors AND outside the lines. They thought I was nuts.

Pitts, Patty:
Just remember the child labor laws ...

Higdon, Michael:
Free cookies every two hours and make them required to call you "master" ??

Pitts, Patty:
eeeeeeeeeeep. nope. don't think the feds like cookies.

Higdon, Michael:
sure they do. everyone loves cookies

More evidence that leads me to skepitcal of Mike's true intentions with little kids.
